Evan Michael Gering is respected by colleagues for his imagination, ever-growing technical skills, energy and professionalism. He first discovered his passion for filmmaking as a young teen volunteer at the closed circuit television station at Motion Picture Television Fund. In the years since, Evan has amassed a diverse body of work in narrative, documentary, feature and experimental films, as well as music videos and commercials.
He earned a Cinematic Arts and Technology Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude. He was respected by faculty and fellow students for consistently surpassing expectations. A mature leader, always organized and prepared, he challenged himself and others to realize a fully defined vision. In three years of work-study as a Cinematic Arts department Service Desk Technician, he gained extensive expertise using, maintaining and training students to use a wide range of film equipment.
Evan is drawn to projects that aim to tell stories that are not often shared. He revels in employing classical techniques inspired by cinema, photography and other artwork. Evan utilizes experimental tactics to create a unique feeling and immersive sense to his work.
He loves to be behind the camera using filmmaking and photography to capture and evoke emotion, provoke thought and entertain. At every opportunity, he hones his cinematographic skills and creativity through his own photography and filmmaking.
